Giada Colagrande wrote, directed and stars in this atmospheric but baffling drama about a protective,
possessive prostitute. Maria (Natalie Cristani) lives with her 18-year-old sister, Caterina (Ms. Colagrande),
in a small apartment, tutors her at home, lets her out only for dance classes
(and delivers her to and picks her up from those, lest someone take advantage of her).
Yet Maria sees no reason to hide her work as a prostitute from her sister.
Men come in and out of the apartment constantly, and Caterina turns up the volume
on her music to drown out the sounds from the next room. The film soon reveals that the sisters
are in love with each other, a situation that cannot stand, but exactly what prompts the characters'
behavior is rarely clear. Soon after Caterina's belated discovery of her heterosexuality, she is invited
into the bedroom with Maria and a client. This quiet, murky variation on the 'Gigi' plot does achieve
a certain claustrophobic fascination, but Ms. Colagrande never gets around to making her point

Eventually, he is returned to his English family, but finds the readjustment difficult, particularly as they do not have the same respect for nature as the American natives.

Synopsis

De negenjarige Katja woont in een buitenwijk van Kopenhagen en kijkt graag naar vogels.
Haar ouders hebben het te druk om zich veel met haar te bemoeien en daarom leeft Katja
een beetje in een eigen wereld. Zo gaat ze veel naar het bos en ziet door haar verrekijker
hoe een jonge valk tijdens een storm in de problemen komt. Ze redt hem en gaat uitgeput met
de vogel, die ze Kiik noemt, in een vrachtwagen zitten. Katja valt in slaap en wanneer
ze wakker wordt, lijkt ze in Italie te zijn. Ze raakt Kiik kwijt en ontmoet Francesco,
Paolo, Mauro en Carlo die iemand kennen die belangstelling voor vogels heeft.
Het blijkt Don Fanucci te zijn die als hobby het opzetten van vogels heeft en Katja zou 200.000
lire moeten betalen om hem terug te krijgen. Dat heeft ze niet en daarom leren de jongens haar
hoe je geld van toeristen kunt krijgen. Ze leert ook een beetje Italiaans en begint met de verkoop
van zakdoeken en aanstekers. Op het moment dat ze genoeg geld heeft wordt ze echter beroofd en
ze moeten op een andere manier proberen de vogel te redden. Samen met de jongens lukt haar dat
en na een achtervolging weet ze de vrachtwagen naar Denemarken te vinden. Thuisgekomen ontdekt
ze dat ook de kinderen in haar buurt met haar willen spelen.
